DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY:

 

Day 01: Mumbai Arrival from Your Country

 

Today early morning reach Mumbai Airport and board your Go Air Flight for Chennai (Dep. 05:50 hrs / Arr. 07:45 hrs). On arrival at Chennai International Airport after clearing the custom and immigrations area you will come out in arrival hall where our company representative will be there with your pre-printed name card. Then you will be greeted with Traditional Indian Welcome by our company representative and you will be handover all the travel documents required for your travel and given a briefing on using those documents during your tour.
Then you will be driven for the Temple City - Mahabalipuram. En-route you will visit Dakshinachitra. Continue your drive for Mahabalipuram. On arrival check-in to your pre-booked hotel. After freshen-up you will proceed for city tour of Mahabalipuram visiting famous Shore Temple, Arjuna Temple, Trimurti, Cave Temple & Five Rathas. The pallavas have created many marvellous monuments with sculptural panels, caves, Monolithic Rathas and Temples. Krishna Mandapam has a big bas relief i.e. the world's largest bas relief. Shore Temple & Five Rathas are a group of five monolithic temples, each created in different style. Overnight stay at your hotel.


Day 02: Mahabalipuram ─ Pondicherry ─ Kumbakonam (238 Km / 5.5 hrs Approx) + City Tour

 

Morning after breakfast you will be driven for the Kumbakonam. On the way you will be visit Pondicherry to explore the Rai Nivas, the Sacred Heart Church and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. The ashram retreat was founded in 1926 by Sri Aurobindo after death. the spiritual authority passed to one of his disciples, a French woman known as the Mother. The Mother was also instrumental in founding the city of Dawn Auroville, 10 km from Pondicherry. Its original charter aimed at creating a city of the future where people from India and abroad could live and work together in a spiritual environment. Continue your drive for Kumbakonam. On arrival Check-in to your pre-booked hotel. Overnight stay at your hotel.

   

Day 03:  Kumbakonam City Tour

 

Morning after breakfast you will be taken for the city tour of Kumbakonam to visit Darasuram Airavateswara Temple (UNESCO World Heritage monument), SwamiMalai temple. Rest of the time you will be provided free at leisure for your independent activities. Overnight stay at your hotel.

   

Day 04: Pondicherry ─ Tanjore ─ Trichy (170 Km / 04 hrs) + City Tour

 

Morning after breakfast you will be driven for the Trichy. On the way visit Tanjore ─ known as Thanjavur to explore the Royal Brahadeeswara Temple, Nandi Bull and Royal Palace Complex. Continue your drive for Trichy. Check-in to your pre-booked hotel. Then you will be taken for the city tour to visit Government Museum, Rock Fort Temple & Sri Ranganath Swami Temple. Evening free at leisure for your independent activities. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 05:  Trichy ─ Madurai (190 Km / 04 hrs Approx)

 

Morning after early breakfast, you will driven to Madurai. On arrival check in at hotel. Then you will be taken for the city tour of Madurai to visit famous Meenakshi Amman Temple, Alagar Koil, and Thirumalai Nayak Palace & Koodal Azhagar Temple. Madurai where the people wake up at the chant of hymns is proud of the magnificent Meenakshi-Sundareswara Temple. Of its 12 gopurams, four of the tallest stand at the outer walls of the temple. Rest of the time you will be provided free at leisure for your independent activities. Overnight stay at your hotel.

   

Day 06:  Madurai ─ Periyar (140 Km / 04 hrs) + Wild Life Tour + Boat Ride

 

Morning after breakfast you will be driven to the Land of Asian Elephants ─ Periyar National Park. On arrival check-in to your pre-booked hotel. After freshen-up you will be taken for the Wildlife tour of Periyar National Park to see Asian Elephants and if you are Lucky you can also see the tigers. You will be taken inside the Jungle by the Boat Ride on Periyar Lake with the Naturalist to see its panoramic views & Spice Plantations. Return back to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

   

Day 07: Periyar ─ Alleppey (140 Km / 04 hrs Approx)

 

Morning after breakfast, you will be driven to Alleppey. On arrival check into the Traditional Houseboat for backwater cruise within Alleppey backwaters. The backwaters of Kerala are a unique product of Kerala and are found nowhere else in the world. Backwaters are a network of lakes, canals and estuaries and deltas of forty-four rivers that drain into the Arabian Sea. The backwaters of Kerala are a self supporting Eco-system teeming with aquatic life. The houseboat with all modern comforts lets you discover the countryside at your own pace. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwater canals. You will have lunch, dinner and breakfast in the Houseboat. Overnight stay in houseboat. 

 

Day 08: Alleppey / Cochin / Munnar ( 165 Km / 5-6 hrs )

 

Morning after breakfast you will be picked-up and driven for Munnar. Breathtakingly beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in God's own country. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district, Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. On the way you will visit Cochin to explore the Fort Cochin. The true character of the city is to be found in the older parts of the Fort Cochin area. This part of the city reflects an unusual blend of medieval Portugal, Dutch and English country life grafted on to the tropical Malabar Coast, visit Chinese Fishing Nets. These nets popularly known as Cheenavala are one of the unique features of the city. Visit the 16th century Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. We would visit 'Jew Town', in the Mattancherry section. The area around the Synagogue, known, as Jew Town is one of the main centers of spice trade. St. Francis Church and Jewish Synagogue. Continue your drive for Munnar. On arrival check-in to your pre-booked hotel. Overnight stay hotel.   

 

Day 09: Munnar City Tour

 

Morning after breakfast you will be taken for the city tour of Munnar to visit Tata Tea Garden & Museum, Anamudi Peak, Mattupetty, Devikulam, Rose Garden & Echo Point. Rest of the time you will be provided free to relax at this natural beautiful place. Overnight stay at your hotel. 

 

Day 10: Munnar / Ooty ( 240 Kms / 6-7 hrs Approx )

 

Morning after breakfast you will be driven for the Ooty. On arrival check-in to your pre-booked hotel. Then sightseeing tour of Ooty located at 2240 m above sea level. The places of interest in Ooty include Botanical Gardens where "summer Festival" is held each during the month of May. The artificial lake and Dodabetta Peak which is the highest point in the district at a height of 2623m. Rest of the time you will be provided free at leisure for your independent activities. Overnight stay at your hotel.

 

Day 11: Ooty / Mysore ( 125 Kms / 03 hrs Approx) + City Tour

 

Morning after breakfast drive to Mysore - also known as the City of Palaces. Mysore retains a quaint charm, that never fails to enchant and which served as the capital city of Mysore Princely Kingdom nearly six centuries, from 1399 until 1947. On arrival check in at your pre-booked hotel. Then sightseeing tour of Mysore. Mysore as we see today is most famous for the imposing Royal Palace with a magnificent Durbar Hall, particularly splendid during the Dussehra Festival when the Maharaja's jewelry, studded gold throne (weighing 200 kgs) is on display. Chamundeshwari temple perched on a hilltop is 2000 years old, Nandi Bull half way to the hill is a 4.8 meter monolith. Evening visit the ornamental Brindavan Gardens. The musical fountains and colourful lights transform this place into a fairly land in the evenings. Return back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 12: Mysore / Hassan ( 120 Kms / 03 hrs ) + City Tour

 

Morning after breakfast you will be driven for the Hassan. On arrival check-in to your pre-booked hotel. Then you will be taken for the city tour to visit the you will be taken for the sightseeing tour of Belur & Halebeed which are renowned its temples & architecture to see Chennakeshava Temple, Halebeed Temple, Hoysalaeswara Temple, Kedreshwara Temple and Basti Hill. Evening time will be provided free at leisure. Overnight stay at your hotel.

 

Day 13: Hassan / Bangalore ( 185 Kms / 4 hrs Approx )

 

Morning after breakfast you will be driven for the Bangalore. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the time you will be provided free at leisure for your independent activities. Overnight stay at your hotel.

 

Day 14: Bangalore city Tour

 

Morning after breakfast you will be taken for the city tour of Bangalore to visit Lalbagh, one of the finest botanical Gardens of India, Shiva Statue (65 Feets), Cubbon Park laid in 1864 sprawling across 300 acres, Vidhana Soudha built in 1956 housing The State Legislature and Secretariat are the main attractions. Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities and explore the local markets. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 15: Bangalore / Mumbai (By Flight) + City Tour

 

Morning after breakfast you will be provided in time departure transfer to Bangalore Airport to board your Go Air Flight for Bollywood City ─ Mumbai ( Dep. 08:10 hrs / Arr. 19:50 hrs ). On arrival you will be picked up and transfer to your pre-booked hotel. Then you will be taken for the city tour of Mumbai to visit visit Gateway of India - is one of India's most unique landmarks situated in the city of Mumbai. The colossal structure was constructed in 1924. Located at the tip of Apollo Bunder, the gateway overlooks the Mumbai harbor, bordered by the Arabian Sea in the Colaba district. The Gateway of India is a monument that marks India's chief ports and is a major tourist attraction for visitors who arrive in India for the first time. At one point of time, this monument represented the grandeur of the British Raj in India, Mani Bhawan - a modest two-storied building on the Laburnum Road in the comparatively quiet locality called Gamdevi, served as Gandhiji’s Bombay head-quarters for about seventeen long and eventful years (1917-1934). It belonged to Shri Revashankar Jagjeevan Jhaveri, who was Gandhi’s friend and a host during that period. It was from Mani Bhavan that Gandhi initiated Satyagraha against Rowlatt Act and propagated the causes of Swadeshi, Khadi and Hindu-Muslim Unity. In 1955 the building was dedicated as a memorial to Gandhiji and to the very important activities of great significance he initiated from that place, Prince of Walse Museum - now commonly known as 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya', was established during the early 20th century. This museum is considered as a heritage structure in Mumbai because of its admirable architecture. The Prince of Wales Museum is one of the most significant museums in India. The museum showcases several collections of ancient artworks, sculptures and artifacts in its galleries, Hanging Garden - is popular for it's Animal shaped hedges. Perfect place for early morning joggers and yoga enthusiasts. One can also clicks nice pics of green bushes, trees and animal-shaped topiary , Crownsford Market & Juhu Beach. Day 16: Elephanta Caves Excursion

 

Morning after breakfast you will be taken for the Excursion trip to Elephanta Island to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Elephanta Caves inside the Sea. You will be taken by Motorboat to the Island. Then you will back to Mumbai. Rest of the day you will be provided free at leisure to explore the local markets for shopping. Overnight stay at your hotel.

 

Day 17: Mumbai ─ Departure

 

Morning after breakfast you will be provided in time departure transfer Mumbai International Airport to board your flight for onward journey with sweets memories of Discovery of South India Tour with Imperial India Tours in your Mind & Heart forever.
